What VMAP Provides

  • Education for primary care providers on screening, diagnosis, management and treatment of pediatric mental health conditions through programs such as REACH and Project ECHO.
  • Access for primary care providers to telephonic consults with regional VMAP hubs comprised of child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers.*
  • Care navigation to help identify additional regional mental health services that may benefit patient families.
  • Telehealth visits to assist with VMAP consults.**

*Regional psychologist/social worker consultations and care navigation services are currently available in the northern, eastern, southwest, and central regions. The remaining western region has access to VMAP’s educational programming and the statewide child psychiatry consult line. We are actively working to expand regional services to the remainder of the state. Please see our FAQ and check regularly on the website for the latest updates.

To sign up for VMAP, please complete the provider enrollment form below. Once you have completed the Provider Enrollment form, you will receive an enrollment guide via email.

Each individual provider (MD, DO, NP, or PA) needs to complete a provider enrollment to use VMAP services.

Psychiatric Consultations

VMAP has child and adolescent psychiatrists available during business hours to provide consultations to Virginia PCPs treating patients ages 0 through 21. To initiate a consult with a child and adolescent psychiatrist, please call 1-888-371-VMAP (8627) or request a consult (PCPs only).
