Triple P – Level 3 for Primary Care Providers
The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program ® is a parenting and family support system designed to help children to realize their potential. Triple P is designed to be with parents on every step of their journey, providing help and guidance to families when they need it. It aims to create supportive family environments, and to prevent and treat behavioral/emotional problems in children and teenagers.
Triple P – as offered by VMAP – is designed for Virginia medical providers who work in primary care with early childhood patients and their families. You will learn how to teach simple and practical behavior management skills to support parents of your patients, including how to build healthy relationships with their child, confidently manage their child’s behavior, and prevent problems from developing.

Triple P participants will gain knowledge and experience on:
- Child social, emotional, and behavioral problems
- Risk factors for the development of social, emotional, and behavioral disorders
- The levels of Triple P
- Theoretical and empirical basis for Triple P
- Self-regulatory framework
- The role of Triple P as a population approach to parenting support
All applications will be reviewed for potential participation. You will receive confirmation if you’ve been selected to participate after further review.
