ECHO Autism STAT™

VMAP ECHO Cohort

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) affects about 1 in 68 children in the United States.

ASD is more common than childhood cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined.  With the average time between screening for autism and acquiring a diagnosis taking two years, and many resources inaccessible to children without that formal diagnosis, critical early intervention for autism is often seriously delayed.

This VMAP ECHO Cohort is focused on supporting community-based PCPs in underserved areas of Virginia to learn how to screen and diagnose young children for autism.
