What is REACH PPP?

REACH PPP is a pediatric mental health training developed by The REACH Institute, and our version is adapted for Virginia primary care clinicians. We offer this program in partnership with VA-AAP.

Who Should Attend?

Virginia primary care clinicians who care for patients 21 & under.

How REACH PPP Works

Interactive Live Training
A dynamic three-day, 16-hour interactive course focused on building skills and confidence in identifying, diagnosing, and treating pediatric mental health concerns.

Case-Based Learning
The training continues with a six-month, case-based distance learning program. Participants join 12 bi-monthly, 1-hour group calls with primary care and child psychiatry experts to learn how to manage cases in daily practice.

Course Goals

Identify

Correctly identify and differentiate between pediatric mental health conditions seen in daily practice.

Manage

Effectively manage pediatric psychopharmacology, from selecting medications to mitigating side effects.

Implement

Create and implement a pediatric mental health treatment plan that mobilizes existing resources.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the Medical Society of Virginia. The Medical Society of Virginia is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Medical Society of Virginia designates this activity for a maximum of 28.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Participants can earn 25 MOC4 credits from the American Board of Pediatrics via an innovative Quality Improvement (QI) project.
