16% of children under the age of 6 face significant mental health challenges that are difficult to resolve without intervention.¹

Despite this, most of the limited resources in Virginia are directed toward older children and teens, leaving these younger children vulnerable. In Early Childhood: Systems of Care for Kids (SOCKs), learn about community-based interventions and referral options to direct your youngest patients and their families toward.

Cohort participants can also complete an optional QI project, which is focused on enhancing screening for early childhood developmental challenges and exploring opportunities for supporting the family. There is no cost to join us for VMAP ECHO, but we do offer an optional $50 CME package.

Accreditation Statement

Joint Accreditation Statement: In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the UVA Health Continuing Education and the Virginia Chapter of American Academy of Pediatrics. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 15 general continuing education credits.

ABMS Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part IV Statement: This Quality Improvement (QI) effort/activity meets Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part IV standards and guidelines for the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Portfolio Program. As an approved Portfolio Program Sponsor, UVA Health Continuing Education has been approved by the ABMS Portfolio Program to approve QI efforts and award MOC Part IV credit through participating ABMS Member Boards.
